Official stuff
We love looking after the needs of our patients and customers. But it isn't all fun. We have lots of rules and regulations to follow and some of them we need to make public. Sit back and enjoy the ride:Privacy, confidentiality and data protection
Confidentiality
We keep confidential electronic records of medicines dispensed, medicine sold over-the-counter and advice given. These records are held securely on a password protected system that can only be accessed by the pharmacist and pharmacy technician. We may from time to time share information with other health professionals such as your GP.
Our internet connection is through a dedicated secure pharmacy internet service. Off site backups of all computer data are held; these are encrypted before transmission to secured dedicated servers.
We are registered with the Data Protection Registrar to hold data for medical purposes. If you wish to have a copy of any data we hold on record for you please apply in writing. There will be an administration charge of £5 to supply such data.
Freedom of Information
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, as a provider of NHS Services we are required to make certain information publicly available.
Out Publication scheme is available by clicking on the link to The NHS Freedom of Information website or a printed copy is available in the pharmacy.
Complaints
We don't get many complaints, but the few we do get are treated very seriously. If for any reason you are not happy with our service, please contact Simon Butterworth, who will deal with any problems personally.
