Prescription Collection and Delivery
We have arangements with the local surgeries to have your repeat prescriptions collected and ready for you to collect from the pharmacy. If you are housebound we can arrange for delivery of your prescription.
Signposting
We will always do our best to advise you. If after discussion your needs will be better met by another service, we will give you the information you need to access that service. This may be your GP or practice nurse, NHS Direct, a hospital accident and emergency service or GP out of hours services. Many people will also find support groups and other NHS services to be helpful, and we keep a list of providers in South Cumbria.
Healthy Living
To help your healthy lifestyle, we keep a range of health information publications and leaflets. You are also welcome to discuss any aspect of healthcare with our pharmacist, who will be pleased to advise on all aspects of health and medicines.
Emergency Supplies
If medicines are needed in an emergency, we may be able to arrange a supply to cover for up to five days treatment. This will involve a short interview with the pharmacist, who will advise you on the best course of action to take. We will keep a record on our computer of the consultation and advice given. This is not a NHS service but if a supply is made we normally charge the equivalent of an NHS Prescription Charge (currently £6.65); for expensive drugs the charge may be higher than this. We will always advise you of any charges before dispensing.
Safe Disposal of Medicines
If you have unwanted or out-of-date medicines, bring them to the pharmacy and we will dispose of them safely for you. For more details on what we can and cannot accept see our Returning Unwanted Medicines Page

We can help you and your family plan and prepare for a trip abroad; from sun protection to insect protection; preventing and treating tummy upsets and other holiday complaints. If you are travelling further afield we can advise on vaccinations and malaria tablets.
